台北市交通警察大隊統計，去年機車發生事故最多的十大路段為民權東路六段、中正路、民權西路、北安路、內湖路一段、忠孝東路五段、忠孝東路四段、八德路四段、承德路七段和民族東路。民權東路六段和中正路，肇事件數比前年各增加39件、19件。
台北市議員侯冠群昨於市議會交通部門質詢時，公布了這個排行榜。他說，油價高漲，北市機車數量今年2月底已有將近106萬輛次，去年北市交通事故死亡94人，機車族就占48人，其中29人在29歲以下，年齡偏低，機車騎士的行車安全值得重視。
一年罰款收入近3億元
北市交通局表示，內湖捷運施工，許多機車改道民權東路六段，車流量大增，因此肇事件數也隨之增加。另中正路、民權西路、忠孝東路一直是車流量高的路段，市府和警方會加強執法宣導，降低機車事故。
根據交警大隊統計，機車違規行為最多的就是行駛禁行車道，估計市府一年罰款收入近3億元。
機車騎士弱勢 被逼走險路
侯冠群說，機車騎士在路上顯得相當弱勢，不但得牽著笨重機車上人行道找車位，還要忍受坑坑疤疤的道路，左轉要等上兩次紅燈，慢車道若有違規並排停車，或是公車未確實靠站，就會壓迫到機車騎士，機車族只得往快車道閃避，遭到員警照相、開單，甚至與後方來車發生擦撞，生命安全受到嚴重威脅。
侯冠群表示，北市違規停車熱門路段，前三名依序是忠孝東路四段、敦化南路一段和八德路四段；其中忠孝東路四段和八德路四段，也在十大易肇事路段排行榜。兩相對照，慢車道違規停車情形越多，越容易造成機車騎士的危險。

北市交通警察大隊表示，有不少騎士抱怨自己會違規騎上快車道，是因為慢車道上有公車或汽車擋路，認為照相時應該把慢車道狀況也拍下來，但照相機如果拍攝那麼多車道，機車車牌就會看不清楚，加上機車快速移動，並不能證明騎士違規行駛禁行車道，是因為慢車道有車擋路，因此還需要再研究。
侯冠群表示，交通局應在易肇事路段增加標語或警告牌，並檢討禁行機車道的設置是否合理，否則一味對騎士開罰，卻未能保護騎士安全。

反對理由最常拿來用的國情不同，其他國家的汽機車密度有台灣高？任何一個國家，在尖峰時段、經濟重鎮的交通狀況都是擁擠的

- 有些老阿公老阿婆已經非常沒有常識了，如果又讓他們不小心開到路中間，這樣他們非常有可能造成交通事故。
